NHS Treatment Charges (From 1 April 2025)
There are three standard charges for all NHS dental treatments. This makes it easier to know how much you may need to pay for the care you receive. The charges from 01/04/2025 will be as follows:
Band 1 course of treatment – £27.40
This band includes examination, diagnosis (including radiographs), advice on how to prevent future problems, scale and polish if clinically needed, and preventative care (e.g. applications of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant).
Band 2 course of treatment – £75.30
This band covers everything listed in band 1, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or extractions.
Band 3 course of treatment – £326.70
This band covers everything in bands 1 and 2, plus course of treatment including crowns, dentures, bridges and other laboratory work.
Urgent course of treatment – £27.40
This band covers urgent assessment and specified urgent treatments such as pain relief or a temporary filling or dental appliance repair.
Please note patients who do not attend the practice for three years will be deregistered. Patients will not be able to automatically re-join the practice.
Exemptions from payment:
Some people, such as under 18s and pregnant women, are exempt from NHS charges. For a full list of qualifying exemptions please follow and read the below link carefully. It is your responsibility to ensure that your exemption and claim details are up to date and correct. Incorrect claims may result in penalty fines from the NHSBSA.
